Description

An Earth-like planet created with 4 sphere layers. The clouds were created using a high-res alpha map with Vue materials. The land was created with Vue functions. 2 Render exposures were created, one for day and one for night with lights. The images were combined in post processing.

Very good work. I've often tried rendering planets myself, but without this kind of success. Well done.

Definiely an excellent creation! I know how hard it is to get these kinds of effects; especially the lights at night blended into the dayside. Well done.

Wonderful image, was just trying to do this type image a month ago with planetpixelemporium.com maps, but I like your work with Functions and vue materials way better :) Very nice work !

Hi Trique, I looked at planetpixelemporium.com, but the maps were lo res. I went to http://www.celestiamotherlode.net. They have from 2k up 32k maps for all planets and moons in the solar system. I used 8 or 16k. I created the earth and I'll post it as soon as I finish the normal map.
