I just want to add that Mars is a 3d object with 2 maps (originally from NASA/MGS/viking) one map is a color map, the second is an elevation map. The atmosphere is a volumetric sphere. thanks for viewing.

Nice Pic, Richard! Mars looks superb- BTW, did you check out planetportal (http://gw.marketingden.com/planets/planets.html), for the Models of Phobos and Deimos? I especially like the USS Independance- it looks kinda similar to some of the designs knocked around for the International Space Station (designed by Committee- budget pinched by Government!) Keep it up.

Yes, I have the moons objects and maps, so i could do a render with the Mars moons. The ship with the rotating capsules for artificial gravity looks very similar to the ship of Mission to Mars. Right now, I try to animate the all stuff. Imagine the trouble...and the fun at he end.

The planetary surface is too red for reality, but yet it fits with the composition and tone. I like it!

Thanks for comments, guys. The red is increased not because of the martian surface but because of the light which is maybe too yellow and also probably because of the contrast effect.
