This is just me, but getting the eye to pull away from the centre (or "center" for you!) is quite difficult. Yet it had to be done. Thank goodness the eyes didn't head off in opposite directions (joking, sorry!). I like the variations in the amount of detail with the centre (ah! we English we do like our spelling foibles) being simplicity itself.
