Description

I'm not a great photographer. But just saw a couple of my foils together and thought they'd look good together.

Not so much old and new as two different styles of fencing, isn't it? And yes,you are right, the one has been invented log after the other. In that way, they are old and new.

For those (like myself) who are mad enough to care. My prefrence is for the Northen Italian style, A mixture of the best parts of the French and Italian schools. Unlike the the Neapolitan style the wrist is unbound. The Authopedic is an experiment in just how light you can make a foil... Its a third of the weight of the Italian ;)

I fenced in Epee... felt Foil and Sabre being too light and not enough flourish for my tastes... preferred the French Grip to the Ortho as well...but this shot brings back memories of greater accomplishments and times of fun...well done sir.. well done!
