Description

I was trying out a 400mm reflector lens on my 35mm Canon EOS. The late afternoon sun was low over a field, and on impulse I shot directly into it. I didn't know what to expect, but certainly not this! It may be the effect of the sunlight on the film, but it looks to me like the corona shining faintly around the disk. If you look at this too long you will see a purple after-image! Previously; thumb_2021236.jpg

Great shot! But be careful looking at the sun through a long lens!

Mark made an important point. I did not look through the viewfinder for this shot, pointing as best I could by looking along the body of the lens. Even at that I was cautious. Respect the sun!
