Description

Just a little experimentation tonight for your viewing pleasure Theres a little story to go along with this one. The prelude, first, though. A few days ago I found this really cool prop/environment called Old Factory by Rpublishing. I looked it over, and bought it along with the Hype Club, which Ill be playing with soon but I digress. Back in the days when I was doing a lot of model photography, I used to shoot with another photographer on occasion. One day, Bob and I were scouting some locations around Kansas City for a shoot. We looked at a few areas, took some notes, then I got a wild hair (a common malady with me). I drove to an industrial area known as Fairfax, just across the river on the Kansas Side. This area is full of places that would fall into what is popularly known as grunge. I couldnt contain my enthusiasm for several possible locations. The more enthusiastic I became, the more Bob looked askance at me like Id lost what little mind I had left. He finally just shook his head and said, Rod, you would take a model, dress her in a $5000.00 designer gown, then shoot her in a junkyard! You shoot like Helmut Newton! That was the biggest compliment he could have paid me. I had a silly grin on my face for the rest of the day! So this ones for you, Bob, wherever you are, now. The character is Kasmir, I think she was on sale some time ago as a clearance item. Glad I got her. What a cutie. This Old Factory is awesome. I love it! It is rather detailed and is a huge environment with literally thousands of possibilities. Ill be doing lots of playing with it! It does take a while to render an image of any size. I modified a few of the rust textures in Photoshop to add just a bit more color. The pipes, railing, and floor shes standing on are all modified textures. I also modified the window glass textures to make them just a little less dirty and clearer. The city scene outside the windows is a night photo of downtown Kansas City by me. Enjoy! Thanks as always for all your comments, faves, ratings and support! They are deeply appreciated!

This image came from such an awesome idea Rod...that's real a cool story behind this...and makes the image mean so much more. I am sure Bob was right when he told you that...and that he'd love this if he was to view it now! Way to go!! Awesome lighting and look to this!

Rod, that's such a cool story and idea for a render. Truly, art does imitate life. Love the background! Another great idea - cleaning the windows a bit (I hate cleaning windows) and then adding one of your photos to the background. Very cute model and outfit. One small suggestion: Simple Details by Corvas in the Rendo marketplace. It does wonders for V4's armpit issue. So, you never did tell us if you ever did the real photo shoot in the grunge area. :-) Nice work my friend.

OK, Rod...you keep this up and you may even get a new fan of Poser. Kasmir certainly dresses up your rendition of Fairfax, Kansas!!! And the factory with KC out the windows...top drawer. Modeling an area that I know with such creativity pops this over into my favorites this morning. Super neat:-)))
