Description
This was a simple but fun little Photoshop project I did. I basically looked for a nice looking black and white photo of something/someone. Then with a newly created layer with the color blend mode, I colored in whatever color I wanted back into the picture. It's nice with a female model like this because I could add in any color I wanted for the finer details like the eye shadow, cheek blush, etc. Like I said, simple... but fun.

My father used to do this on a paper copy of a black and white picture, using color pencils and vegetable oil. Things have become very easy with Photoshop and applications like that. My fathers work still stands in my mothers home in a prominent place. Its colors are not as lifelike as the ones in your picture. But I can not but admire the amateur doing a very good job with the tools of the fifties. We came a far way since then and coloring a black and white picture no longer is a difficult job. Don't take me wrong, you did a very good job here! But seeing this picture did remember me about my fathers efforts half a century ago, with tools we have forgotten to use. Today we have other tools, which make the old say about photos never lying a first degree illusion. Anyhow you did a good job here.
