At night growing up Mom and me struggled Get along could not connect Even if tried, as much as told As the breeze blew in a crack The curtains would fly Out of bed would stumble From her room into mine Surrounded by darkness Shutting closed bang mad Frustrated the window wanted open Fresh air breeze always wanted close So the bedroom window tempered Light sleeper alert flew opened Sleep much not known those days The covers always rolled over The pillows would hand fluff Waiting for the wrath Stuffy never liked woke Nor did hear ever knock The nights always fought Thoughts mornings were cold ©21 February 2010 LKS ================== Thank You so much appreciated
