Description
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there. I did not die.
For a dear friend who lost her husband suddenly last week :(

Sorry not been around. Just not got my heart in art any more. Not got my heart in much at all tbh. But had to do a picture for my dear friend.

It is true friendship which reaches out to give for another what we are hard pressed to give to ourselves. Your heart is in You .. this is what matters. When there are shadows all around us our best endeavor is to seek for the light wherever it may be. Like all things, we can only recognize illumination if we possess it within our selves. No one could produce an image such as this within total darkness. Somewhere near you is a pure and beautiful light .. leans towards it .. crawl if you have to .. just move! The wheel of life will turn .. that's its nature. Soon .. you find yourself immersed in light with no desire to turn around or even think of the shadows behind you. Beautiful and heartfelt. I lost my best friend to cancer recently (she was a member here too, ScarlettWoman) so I feel this in my soul. I'm infinitely sorry for your friend's loss and also for yours, for your loss of feeling about art. I can identify with that too, in a very large way. In the last weeks, not sure which way to turn, thinking one day I want something, and the next day I don't, and being terribly confused and at times profoundly sad in the process. I think time is our friend here, and it will help to heal the rawness of some things, and also show us the way, if we let it.
