Description

I have rarely used Daz Studio, but due to a few questions I thought I would spend the day learning a bit more about it. For instance, the problem with poser materials not being useable in Daz Studio... or so I thought. This morning I found a nice tutorial by Yanelis that describes how to make a couple edits to poser material files and change their file extension so they can be used as a Daz Studio MAT Pose. This enabled me to convert the Materials for my Camaro and Custom Texture Pack. Once I got that all done, I spent the remainder of the day testing and trying some of the things I just figured out in poser. Raytracing is possible in both applications and is key to a nice realistic car render. In poser you have to add a ray trace reflection modifier, but in DS you only have to add a positive value to the reflection slider... you don't even need a reflective texture map. Lately I have also been on a quest to get a good car render and paint material out of poser. As you can see in this image it's also possible to get the same from DS. I even used my simple environment and simulated overhead lights again. I think it turned out really nice. Daz Studio was able to render this much faster than poser. Thanks once again for taking a look and your comments.

WOO-HOO! That is just a STUNNER for a DS render! :-D And the textures and reflections look outstanding. Now I REALLY can't wait to take this beauty for a test render (or two) in my runtime!

Tradesman, I can send you a link to the converted material files for DAZ later tonight..... they don't contain the raytracing setup shown here, but that's real easy to add to the base materials.

Trying to get a good render? IMO this is one of those rare models that you just can't make it look bad, no matter what you do.
