Thanks all for the comments! SRAM- do you mean the sidetrim? I copy the faces of the body that stand in the way of the trim to a new object, cut this object along the direction of the trim and extrude the resulting edge. Delete the original faces surrounding these extruded edges and there is the trim. Select the border ot this object and shift-drag it into the body object making sure it is snug to the body surface. Voilá!
