Description
I had never seen a ladybird pupa before, so you can imagine my surprise when I noticed what looked like a baked bean by it's side.
It was just after 6 am when I decided to have a look what might be lurking in my garden... and there it was!
After the baked bean had emerged I realised it was indeed a ladybird! Oh what joy! She wandered around slowly displaying her yellow wings and over a period of 4 hours she gradually developed her spots and then her beautiful flame red colour.
I began to feel a bit like a surrogate mother and felt quite responsible for her well-being.
Well, after she had exlpored her surroundings and allowed me to photograph her beautiful development... away she flew.
I can tell you I felt very proud of her :)

Well done for getting the whole process! I've done it in bits, but never the one individual.. Superb montage! Now you need to fly after her to watch her go red!
