My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

What a beautiful image. Wonderful lighting. I haven't been invited on a journey to a place of myth, a place of fantasy since I was in college. Of course we had herbal help in those days. I get my backpack.

Beginnings are such a fragile time, but the Companions have set a common goal, and they are quiet in their resolution. (There are six of them, double the number of luck for such endeavors as a trek into The Swallows. Telam will go beyond The Swallows, and though Miro has vowed to follow him, he expects Miro to stay with the others...in The Swallows, where happier treasures may be sought.) There are Ei blossoms and they scent the air with their olfactory markings and it is said in these lands that when the Ei blooms, there will be dragons to carry tradesmen and seekers, warrior-women and hunters into the Far Lands, the Swallows, and the Otherlands just west of sunset. The Dragons, as the myth-spinners say, were the first to know that the world is round, and thus they shaped their eggs as mirrors of the world. Telam, the youngest of the companions, and the most blond, has seen a dragon's egg and though he is the youngest, he carries strange rank. He carries a flute as well, a fragile and narrow thing: no wider than a large man's pinky. It is Telam who seeks the most: his sister is sick with strange fevers and sweats. They are an affliction that he bears in his heart and so he has come here, with the others, to seek a dragon to ride into the Otherlands, just west of sunset...a place where elixirs for every human malady are brewed in strange, iris-petal flasks. It is Telam who enjoys the scent of Ei perfume in the air, and as a breeze stirs his hair into a honey-blond storm at the edges of his sight, he tightens the closures of his buskins, checks the weight of his travel sack, and listens--for only a moment--to the voices of his companions in quiet conversation. Miro catches Telam with a glance, smiles, and marks the air with a subtle sign of affection: there--just there--he inscribes the mark of the dragon in the whispered breeze that carries flower scent.... *** Well, you did say "Let the journey begin." I love this. You have such a perfect way of capturing the inner landscapes of any blossom you come across and so it's no surprise that this would be as rich. I love this, and I had no idea that when I clicked on the thumbnail to this that some dude named Telam would come to life along with someone else named Miro. This is great. I love it! The colors and the hints and whispers of landscape are gorgeous...and yeah...inspiring.

A most moving and thought provoking image for me this morning. Looking carefully brings perception of your image. Studying brings a next step to knowing. There is indeed far more here than a pretty iris. There is light eminating from within. I can ask myself...what does that mean to this journey? Reflection upon what I see and then know brings me to thinking about what may happen next. All in all, a very exciting place to be...kind of a "C.S. Lewis beginning". Are we about to enter into a new dimension through an old wardrobe in the attic? Can you take us with you? All else aside...beautiful iris spruced up further by your artistic postwork. Yay, way to go...ready now to step through this iris, this threshhold, into your new adventure? :))) Let's go!!!
