Description

Jedi Mistress Pehn Orell jumped from the LAAT/I, quickly followed by Heavy, her artillery commander, who threw aside what was left of the last of his armor in disgust. Together they watched the medics remove the two badly wounded commandos, Boom and Shot, and the CIS commander, Vell Orolie, the only survivor of the enemy forces. "Go with your brothers Heavy. They're in very bad shape. See that they are taken care of. And you know what to do if they decide to Retire them." "Yes ma'am. I call Buir Kal. He'll get them home." "Good man. I'll be damned if I let the Republic Retire them." Heavy followed the med team out of the hanger bay. Pehn turned in the opposite direction and headed for the lift to the bridge. On the walk, the Jedi felt her rage building. She'd landed on the planet Sora with fifteen thousand troopers, and Jedi Metla Synyss and her Padawan, and returned with three troopers. Two of whom might not make it. All because Admiral Vlad Vinzer didn't want to risk his ships! And to make matters worse, her fellow Jedi and former Padawan had ran when her learner was killed. All the death around them had been more than she could take. Orell knew she had to find her. In her current state, she was susceptible to the influence of the darkside. As she stepped off the lift, Pehn got a call from Heavy. "The wounds were too severe to allow them to return to service. But the lead doctor works for Kal, so he's filled out the after action report saying that there were no wounded brought back. Boom, Shot, and General Orolie are on a shuttle now, headed for the Retirement Home." "Good. Better to live among their own people than to be broken up for spare parts. You should have gone with them." "You know that's not going to happen Buir Pehn." The Spiked Red Cerinian smiled. "It was just a thought." "And I appreciate the thought. But I have my duty. Would you leave the Jedi?" "Truthfully?" Heavy paused for a moment. "Of course. I would always prefer to hear the truth from you." "Truthfully, yes, I've thought about it. But I doubt I really would go through with it. But I am so tired of the death. So very tired." "I can't say that I disagree with you Buir Pehn," he said, once again calling her the Mandalorian word for parent. "Are you going to need me up there with the Admiral?" "No, you go get a couple days sleep. I'm sure you need it." Heavy laughed. "That I do mama, that I do." "Then I'll see you when you wake up. Later." "Later General Orell." Pehn Orell looked at her chronometer. It had taken her more than an hour to get to the bridge. What had happened? No matter, she was at Vinzer's ready room. With a last feel of the pouch that contained Metla's saber and the focus crystals of her shattered double bladed lightsaber, she entered.
