A little about me...
My passion for photography is long lived and finally coming to life. I enjoy seeing things through and artists eye...I now look at the worlds beauty through the eye of my lens, that is a wonderful thing. It is truly amazing what you see through that tiny little hole.
A little about me...above is a self portrait, only took me about 50 shots to get...hahahah! I absolutely hate having my picture taken, maybe it is a photographer thing. I like being on the side taking the picture...not in it.
I live in a small little town in SE Indiana, I love it here. The small towns this way are very charming, full of interesting people who always have a smile and a wave. The area is full of crumbling homes, old barns and riddled with horses and cattle. You will always be able to find a home who uses hubcaps as fencing...and yes I am serious. I am constantly finding my next area I am going to shoot when I go out for my weekly drive.
I have 2 children ages 10 and 2, girl and boy...oldest is the girl. My children are not what you would consider the "norm" but then again they come by that honestly. I am not what you would call the "norm" either...kind of eclectic.
My daughter is the brains of the family, facts, facts, facts...not very creative but super intelligent. That little girl never ceases to amaze me and always has a fun little fact for me every day. If there is a subject matter she is interested in she must own all of the books that relate to it and read them all the day she gets them.
My son is on the other side of the spectrum. G is what we call him, G' has down syndrome and is delayed a bit. When I say a bit I mean a small amount. I have dedicated the last almost 3 years to his development and he is signing books and starting to talk more and more every day. He is a typical boy, and by that I mean BAD! Hahahah! He runs, jumps, tackles the dog, bugs his sister and gets into everything. He is very inquisitive...good thing. G never, ever stops...go, go, go!
I was blessed with 2 amazing children, they compliment each other perfectly and keep a nice balance in the house....meaning they tag team me, hahaha!
My husband is a traveling man so I am here living as a single mom most of the time. It is hard but it pays the bills and allows me to be with G' where he needs me most...home. Which comes back to my business, Meadows Photography. Like I said my passion runs deep for photography so what better home business right? We all know how hard it is to make money doing something you love but I am not going to give up. Someday I will be able to contribute enough financially and be able to bring my husband off the road and try to have a "normal" family life...whatever that is.
So there you have it, me in a nutshell...Not too exciting but hey, it is my life and I love it.
I hope you all enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed exploring all of yours!

Great looking duotone! Way up here, our rural abandoned houses are all grey rotted out shells, yellow with lichen. Seen one of those, seen em all. I like the stone in this pic alot better.

I took a ton of pics of this house, all beautiful...a wonderful building to shoot.

First, welcome to Renderosity Kim! This will be a fun place for you to showcase your digital images and to get a variety of feedback, most of which you will find very supportive. There is a great deal to like about your landscape. I appreciate your eye for composition and the fact that you have a lot of skill in the postwork department. I find your use of selective coloring to be very creative and eye-catching. I am looking forward to seeing a lot more! Bill:)

A beautiful first posting--your selective coloring is wonderful!!

WOW! Ooh, this rocks. I happen to love selective coloring and really moody shots of abandoned things. Chicago has a ton of abandoned buildings, but they're not exactly safe to go into so please post as many abandoned structure shots as you want and I'll just sit back and enjoy them. I really like the composition here, but what really gets me is the mood. It's quite brilliant: I don't exactly know why but I get the feeling of anticipation, not like something bad is going to happen, so much as there is just a sense of waiting. This is a stunning shot. Welcome to Renderosity. It's a cool place to hang out and show off your stuff. This image rocks. By the way, I'm seriously into insects and bug-type things and I can't help but notice the almost insectoid shape of that red thingie. It looks like it has some really nice rust on it too. I also love the way shadow and light interacts so intriguingly here. Great stuff.

Hi Kim welcome to rendo it is a great place to hang out and view the work of others some is great and some isn't but hey they are brave enough to put it up.. It is always interesting to see the gradual improvement of the works of the artist whether its Photos, 3d art or 2d.. Anyway I have found they are a friendly bunch on here and have made more than a few friends on here. Love this capture of this abandoned house in the country.. I love how it is almost B&W then the sudden splash of red on the old abandoned piece of equipment shows it isn't.. there is also a lovely mood feeling to this with the mist in the BG.. I do hope to see more postings from you of these old abandoned houses or parts of.. I have always enjoyed looking at old houses like this, there so neat. Excellent first post!!

Great first post Kim ! Brave use of selective colouring, which works well as the old digger has an alien presence..

Oh gosh ... the minute I saw this, I thought of Chip because of the alien, insect-like lines of that machinery. I see he's already found it! :) Your composition is great, and you've done a wonderful job with the selective coloring. Nice work! Welcome!

breathtaking beauty in ... farm machinery! Wow.

A wonderful first post. Selective coloring brings out the detail on the machinery and makes the composition for a rural view that is almost timeless.

Hi, Kim, WELCOME to Rendo! This is an awesome community of great folks, and great artisits. This photo is OUTSTANDING! I love photos of old abandoned buildings myself, and I hope to get out and maybe shoot a few when the weather improves. I might even talk Bill into joining me :-D Anyway, this is a great photo - the red machinery grabs the eye, and the composition leads your eye into the photo and completely around the scene. Very nicely composed!
