Description
I couldn't resist the temptation of producing a trompe l'oeil with a trompe l'oeil.Actually, this is the same trompe l'oeil called The Bibliothéque de la Cité, the City Library, I introduced in my last posting. Here you can have a more general idea. On the right you can see the non-painted, real facade of the building facing a quai along the Saone river, while the painted, illusory side faces a short alley. It shows painted shops and huge bookshelves with the French books the painters thought the most important to save, I believe. Opposite you can see the two most internal, painted facades of the building as if in a mirror. At the end of the alley the TV tower is mirrored, since it's actually behind the back of the beholder, beyond the river. All the shops on the alley you can see are part of the murale, that is the entrance to the 'public library' where a 'Chinese' patron is going in, the Bibliò Cafè etc. The local cops and the bycicles are real. I hope you like this little trick in my collage, to make you smile.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Fascinating places photographed by you:) I just saw a TV show on the Travel Channel here a month ago featuring the painted buildings of Lyon...would love to see them. But if I don't...you will have filled that niche for me. Thanks Sandra. I am smiling!
