Description

My brother came over from Nevada about 4 weeks ago with several cartons of laminate flooring. He got a great deal at one of those big box stores I don't have here--then he came and put the floor in for me!! Here are the before, during and after pix. I love it--only problem is now everything else looks really old and ugly. You know what that means!! ps--i put this under "challenge" because that's what it turned out to be. like a jigsaw puzzle; at more than one point, my brother just told us to "leave me alone, i'm thinkin"!! we did so gladly!!

Looks real nice! Your brother did a great job. Be careful or you'll wind up rebuilding the whole house.

I'm thinking the rest of the house is looking pretty good to me. I'd walk a mile backwards in 4 inch heels to have a kitchen floor like this. It really makes the whole room look like a million bucks. I'm looking for a 12 x 14 foot used carpet for one of my bedrooms right now. My carpet is original to the house and my house was built 50 years ago! :-)

WOW! I like this glimpse into your daily life. I love the floor, but what really grabbed me is the hanging plant. Is that a Spider Plant? This whole collage works perfectly and yeah, I can see the "challenge" element of it clearly. I'd pull my hair out trying to get something like this to work right. But ah, it works so well...so perfectly and I love the range of views here. What's even better is I can see where you do stuff...where you make coffee, where you eat, where you look out of the window at your next photographic foray. That's all so great and I love this image (these images) for that. Wonderful work!

The floor turned out great! I know the feeling ... I keep thinking about buying a new fridge, but don't want to spend $25,000 on a kitchen remodel! LOL!

Old and ugly? I don't think so! Things can be old and shabby, but mainly for me new is often ugly..flatpack furniture is my idea of shoddy hell. If I want something 'new' I trawl the secondhand and charity shops, even the shop at the dump! Doesn't apply to appliances of course..then new is gorgeous! I love this peep into your house..it looks so comfy and happy!

Interesting sequence of shots depicting the renovation of your floor by your hard working brother, Maz. I screwed up my right knee doing the same thing laying asphalt tile. And LOL on the chanllenge.
