Description

Just playing with the new build of Vue 8i, no crashing, so far. Yippee!! You might need sunglasses to view it though. ;) Grist Mill from Cornucopia, Noggins Geese from DAZ, trees mostly xfrog. Thanks for the wonderful comments on my last picture "Sailing". It was a slightly different type of picture for me, so I appreciate the encouragement. Thanks to Mark (WYSIWIG) for adding that great poem that fit so beautifully with the picture. Thanks Mark for taking the time to look it up. If you remembered it without looking it up, I'm very jealous but grateful nontheless.

Gorgeous work as always. I love that one red tree. Very striking. I also like the colors against the grays and the play of light and shadow.

Gorgeous image. The lighting is great, emphasizing the colours and giving deep shadows, and I love that dark brooding sky.

It is good to see you back posting, Patty. & Good to know your are again dancing with your muse.   Congratulations on Vue8's stability! Poser8 has given me more trouble than any program I have worked with for the past twenty years.  So, yeah.. I can appreciate your glee.  :-)   This is beautiful scene.  It reminds me of a mill in lower Westchester, near Tarrytown .. I can't rememmber the exact town/village now.  I was there about twenty five years ago .. taking my cameras for the day to break out of the grind of daily photo work.  It's really striking how much the location maatches your scene.  Of course, right about now .. the mill in Westchester is buried beneath eighteen feet of snow.  ;-)   Your scene is much more inviting! Terry

The MILL The rain beat like a cloud of locusts in the desert. Leaning on the inner edge of the window ... I looked down ... Without stopping ... Without stopping she fell on the windows of my attic ... in Normandy ... A Conde on Huisne ... ... icy drops violently struck the surface of the river ... I saw through the paddle wheel ... Mill ... I wanted to leave ... I refused to fight the damp cold hostility ... I railed against the sun ... ... absent cons Normandy too green ... No wonder I swore this region ... ... ... these meadows may be green ... with all this water falling from the sky ... violent ... ice ... you give the dying the death ... at least ... No wood, no heating ... who would have thought to store wood in summer ... in the dining room ... to heat! In addition to all this aquatic environment ... ... the wet ash acrid burning smell ... wet ... and cold ... Wrapped in my wool coat ... you realize ... wear a wool coat in summer ... you realize ... you must be a little cracked ... or seriously ill ... No ... no ... I am not sick ... I'm chilled ... through trees ... near the window I watch ... ... ... trunks between the shimmering river so ... sometimes ... in the sunlight ... That's the Normandy ... major roads ... very long ... discreetly through huge fields is known ... ... the Normans are rich and stingy ... ... except for the land ... What about having bought the watermill ... having rehabilitate the impeller ... ... beautiful piece of carpentry ... which cost me dearly ... the carpenter carpenter who rebuilt it to me ... I was assured that it support his work for a hundred years ... think of an investment ... I will never live a hundred years or more ... so ... is that Normandy have me well-preserved ... Returning to earth, I am a prisoner of this room, dilapidated ... ... wet and cold against the colossal home turned off ... a few months ago ... I had roasted chestnuts ... I consider myself a prisoner of any evil ... trapped in invisible bonds that weaves this humidity and rain ... the river whose waters gently encroaching on the banks ... What do I give to keep warm ... just a ray of sunshine that warmed the windows ... to go out in this campaign that I love ... God grant that these bursts ... stop ... name ... D! Suddenly ... Miracle ... before me ... A ray of sunshine? You ask ... Not much better ... ... Really? ... How about a look of surprise ... Yes ... there is suddenly the sun ... but more ... A doe with her fawn ... close to my window ... The two animals absolutely quiet ... no alert ... The fawn's mother's head ... while it grazes on tender shoots of the tree ... facing my house ... How beautiful it is ... this show ... should I leave ... But no ... the sun must throw violent bursts of light on my window ... the two animals can not see me ... A sparrow ... mistaking the landing is to land on the back of the young mother ... If I had my Nikon in hand ... I'd take a picture ... a beautiful old tree, moistened by rain ... bursts of sunlight on the bark ... a deer ... a sparrow pecking insects ... ... in the fur of the young mother ... while laying on the film ... the deer head ... twisted slipped under the chest of his begetter ... what beauty ... now ... to feed the cycle of nature ... this sparrow carrying unknowingly ... ... ... seeds for future ... shrubs growing around me ... what chance to admire the beauty ... The show is divine ... the sun ... the water still flowing in parallel channels on the glass begins to evaporate ... ... I see better what rural picture ... I decided not to go ... the fifth of Beethoven in the background would fit perfectly with this idyllic vision of nature ... ... reconciling myself with this green area ... Having no record player in the mill ... I still sing to me softly in my head this magnificent sequence "Soylent Green" ... this movie where an old man who has decided its time to die ... the sound of this music ... the sight of those leaves ... these extremely colorful domes of the American forest ... I waste my time watching this pastoral scene ... no ... no ... I do not waste my time ... it feels good to listen to nature ... The bird flew ... the doe and her fawn were unconsciously moved closer to my window ... the pools of mud ... the leaves on the ground ... did not seem to bother them ... it's beautiful ... Life Nature ... What happens there ... the music is louder ... it invaded my head ... all so beautiful music ... who attack me ... I do not understand ... - Kitten ... wake up ... damn ... kitten ... wake up! We soon arrived at Condé on Huisne scat ... ... ... we stand down ... Gone are the rustic show ... over confidence deer ... finished the bold birds ... We arrived ... We go to the Notary ... To sign ... To sign the acquisition of mill ... all for a paddle wheel ... my wife's ideas sometimes ... well ... give in ... we will be lucky ... who knows?

I love it when the sun lights up trees and buildings against a dark sky. Wonderful composition and lighting! I like the depth of the trees, with the bare trees, the shading and the stone wall. Excellent small details and colors. I like the shading and color of the grass as it goes from the water to the raised area. Beautiful water, reflections and shadows! Very nicely done!

As always attention to detail. The sacks of grain on the dock and in the boat. The birds in flight. Normally the mill would be seen first but the red tree draws the eye to the right of the image. It serves as a counterweight to the mill and anchors the right side. But it also guides the eye from right to left which, in my opinion, is the proper order for viewing this image. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, damn fine work!
