Description

Flying east over the Rocky Mountains between Las Vegas, Nevada and Denver, Colorado. Scene in late afternoon just shortly before turning north for a landing at the Denver Airport. This one deserves a ZOOM:) Bill:) "New York, New York, The Man in the Hat" thumb_2024933.jpg

This is such an unusual POV that it took a couple of close looks for me to figure out where those long fingered shadows were coming from, until I realized they were cast by the mountain range itself. Silly me. An overall cool shot with lots of contrast, Bill, and I love those billowing clouds in the background.

WOW - what a shot! It almost looks like an alien landscape. The contrast is great, and those clouds! Awesome! This one definitely deserves a zoom.

Spectacular POV and the sepia makes it more dramatic. Can you imagine traveling over those mountains for the first time? Traversing the first mountain only to find you had 3 or 4 more to go. Sorry, my mind wanders over your beautiful scene.

The sharp contrast makes it look like a lunar landscape. Well, except for the clouds. Awesome shot.

I enjoy flying in and out of the central valley in California just because on a clear day the Sierra Mountains are mesmerizing. This is an example of how mountains can take on a voice of their own. Great shot.
