I just purchased a Nikon P90 and this is my first attempt to photograph a flower with a 2.8 F stop in apperture priority mode. Hope you like it.

It is one of the variety of Peacock Iris - also known as Peacock lily, African Iris, Butterfly Iris... It is, as you say, often called a Lily. This is a great shot of this one. Well done and you handle your camera well. I will be posting some this summer, I'm sure, since I have it growing a many places. It seems to seed itself after a few years of settling in in the garden.
