This is Stormy all grown up and free. WE raised her by bottle last year and released her. On average we have Five or more Squirrels in the yard at any one time year round. She has stuck around. Once released she took right to being a wild squirrels but she is the only squirrel that will hang and stay in the tree out my window for hours. We don't feed them due to the high number of Foxtail Squirrels. They are non native and are endangering the native Northern Grey Squirrel but we love them and would never harm them .We want to protect them from being to tame and coming to harm by not so nice people as well . . Funny thing is do you get to be the biggest fatest squirrel by lounging around to much ? I would think she would have to eat alot of food and get excersize in the process yet she is huge next to the other squirrels. She is the only squirrel in the yard that will stretch out on a branch close her eyes and pass out for like 2 hours . We identify her by a bald spot on her ear she had from when we found her and she sucks the same finger on her right foot when she sleeps as when she was a baby .I have a pics of her doing so both when on bottle with us and as a free adult sleeping in the trees its so cute ill have to post it . Anyway we love our Squirrels and having her was an amazing experience for us.
