If a country, its leaders, and its people are without honor, what can said to be the worth of that nation? If it cannot honor its debt commitments and keep its money valuable, why lend to it? If it doesn't support its allies, why befriend it? If it doesn't honor the rights of the people and businesses to possess life, liberty, and property, why pay taxes and be a citizen of it? If the leaders lie and mislead you, why believe them? If they try to take your rights because they think they can do better, why elect them? If they refuse to run a nation properly, why trust them? If a person acts without honor to you, why deal with him? If he uses the government to take your rights for his use, why tolerate him? So act with honor to others as you would have them act honorably to you.
