Description

This is another version of "First Snow" I like this one much better, the lighting is nicer and there is more contrast. The thing I liked about "First Snow" was the snow and ice effect. This has just a slight ice effect but better lighting. Believe it or not I have ONE MORE version, the one I REALLY like best of all. I hope I am not testing your patience too much with my experiments, and that you will indulge me a bit longer. I think it's fun to see what a huge difference just a few tweaks of a slider in PostworkShop can produce with very little effort. Thanks so much for your kind and generous comments and for the favorites.

I like this one, this has a sort of weathered look over it, or an old style color-photo....

This image has an almost eerie fell to it. Very well composed.

Wonderful! I like this grainy paint like effect and the overall colour composition!

Really like this too. I like the contrast in the lighting, which has me leaning to this one as my favorite of the three. All well composed and rendered.

I prefer this one the most of all three, the postwork effect is quite spectacular, it's probably the aqua hues as that's my favorite colour ! Well composed scene and magic postworkings ! ~Cheers~

Out of all three, I must say I prefer this one as well...after going forward and back a few times, it's more of the painted look, which I like. (strange thing, I'm agreeing with my son on this one, nice one jif3d) BB

You couldn't resist, huh? ;-) I agree, it is hard to choose on just one "final" interpretation of an image. Of course we don't really have to in the digital age.  Once it was a question of wall space .. now we have single picture frames that can rotate through hundreds of images & there are an endless variety of ways to post images online.  We ought to be able to produce varitions to our hert's content. But . . . there's that old sunofabitch Time to deal with still.  Oh, that we had a few extra lifetimes to spend!.. I would stay in Photoshop and evolve images for uncountable hours.  Unfortunately there always comes a time when the music stops playing and we must choose "just one" version over all the possible "might-yet-be" renditions.  Once in the while though .. it is sweet to spoil ourselves and play with a few alternatives.  We are, after all, God to the little universes we create from pixels.  :-) I like how this version looks so much like a hand-tinted photograph.  It's also a little melancholy in a nostalgia sort of way.  That's fine with me .. as you know .. I have no fear of the melancholy .. it's just one aspect of life which gives us comparative perspective on the others. This is also a great example of how much of a difference a single small bird can make to a scene.  Just a touch of life!  The human eye will never miss this .. and it always transforms an image. & again .. this reminds me of home in a generalized Hudson Valley sense. Super painterly effects, but still a bit too cold (winter has just begun, and already I'm pining for the warmth...)
