Description

I thought that this week I would try to build a pose from scratch for the first time, rather than just starting with a stock pose and adjusting it. To make the job a little easier I used a couple of photo references. Everything went well until the time came to hook the thumb into the jeans belt loop. OMG, I learnt more about how arms and hands are jointed in those hours than I ever imagined was possible. In a further moment of insanity, I decided that using a mirror would make the composition work better. I didn't really think through how hard it would be to make adjustments when I could only see the reflected image when I rendered. Let me know if the effort was worth it. I love to hear your comments. It is a super good idea, especially when you are starting out to force yourself to create your own poses ... just as you say... to really understand the jointing issues. Now I must say however, that there comes a point where you say to heck with the minor poke throughs - almost all pokes are far easier to fix in postwork and are not worth the struggle in DAZ/Poser. As to the image itself, you did a great job. Your lighting is excellent and you got a natural pose.
