Description

You see the doctor helping the drummer boy in the middle of the photo. I did some photos trying to get the feel of they was done in th e civil war. people say they did Sepia but that not true. I saw blue and red and other colors too. most is blueish in tint. here is a link saying why they did this and not leave it black and white. http://www.ehow.com/about_5068495_sepia-photography.html and here is a link to how the photographers would work with they photographer wagon http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/cwphtml/cwtake.html Happy times have change to take a photo. have a good day oh trying to get the feel of a real civil war photo. I did not get there yet I believe. it harder that what it lloks like. Plus you have to think that age or years had on the coloring too. lol

here the south is marching closer to the yanks lines as the north is withdrawing. They did loss this battle which was important as the north was trying to caputor Sherport and cut Texas off from helpint the rest of the South.

You know I bet standards in developing varied considerabley back then - So - You definitely have created a authentic illusion of a period dated photo I feel - Was not that a interesting period in time - equally violent but daily life I expect void of the chaos found today - Take Care -

You stood elbow to elbow with Matthew Brady to take this remarkable photo, Jock. I bet your equipment was more advanced than his. Civil War photographers worked out of a wagon. And, the Civil War pictures I've seen aren't in sepia. I hope the drummer boy wasn't badly wounded. Unless he was hit by cannon fire, who would want to shoot at him anyway?

This would have to be a difficult shot to take with any real feeling of originality and authenticity. If not for the cars in this, it would seem like it was taken at the time of the original battle. Outstanding work.

A little bit of clone tool work would remove those 1860-vintage pick up trucks! I had a similar problem with some re-enactors from the Revoltionary War period with 1778 Fords and Chevies until I sent in the clones. You can probably apply the wipe out even with this PW in place.
