Description
She had knelt to pray, but couldn't find the words. She couldn't pray to a goddess, she no longer believed in. Her heart was so angry, and tormented, she had driven everyone who loved her away. Did she not stay now, in her mother's house, where Silus could not follow her? His words echoing around her head, like the many ghosts of those she'd lost. " your selfish!" It kept repeating in her head over and over.
She had given away everything then. Her possessions, her fine clothes. She had no need of them. She was Princess.. of nothing. Anger at herself made her cut her hair. They couldn't understand what she was feeling, because she couldn't even understand what she was feeling. She felt like she was on the edge of madness.. with no where left to turn. "your selfish" it echoed in her head, and hurt far too much.
Hadn't she given her family everything? She took care of them, nursed their wounds.. Did all the tasks, that were far too mundane for the honorable paladins. Maybe it had made her selfish. She had moved away to that little cottage, to be alone. To do what she wished to do. In her own defense, they had given her no peace.. not content to leave her to her own demons, they poked and prodded and tried to push her in directions she had felt no need to go.
Now they were gone, and she felt like a boat with no rudder, aimlessly spinning round and round in a tide pool. Empty and angry.. how would she ever find her way forward again?

A touching story and a meaningful one, something we all can relate with when we battle our own demons. You did a very fine presentation with all the emotions wrapped and blended together with the story. I didn't know how great of a story teller you are until I saw and read this last image of yours. A great work, meaningful and symbolic as well.

A really sad story and an excellent image to illustrate it! Very nicely done in every way!

WOW! VERY powerful image and words. The posing and lighting are spot on. You managed to make her seem beautiful and endearing - yet you can't even see her face!!! You made the dad in me want to put my arm around her... I DO hope this is not a reflection of your personal mood. Trust an old man: Time heals all and it changes your perspective. And never EVER dismiss someone else's love for you - even if it IS flawed. Because love (and forgiveness) is in WAY too short supply in this uncaring world...
