Description

A depiction of Yuma in the southwest of Arizona. Saguaros are few and are outnumbered by the Organ Pipe Cactus. The area is much sandier than other parts of the state; and, is very near the Colorado River valley. The models and preset files used here are: • Stones and Dust preset files by 'Seth' (Franck Dossans). The files are available at NWDA. http://www.nwdanet.com/index.php • Grass Pack by 'Walli' (Jan Walter Schliep). Available at NWDA. http://www.nwdanet.com/index.php • Mouse-eared Chickweed by 'Walli' (Jan Walter Schliep). Available at NWDA. http://www.nwdanet.com/index.php • Both the Organ Pipe Cactus and the Dry Grasses are available at Ashundar and were reworked by a friend. Authors are not known. http://www.ashundar.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=179bc8b8e4e3cef279a9fdb93d641764&action=tpmod;dl=cat5 A 'Fractal' terrain was created with low areas flattened by using the 'Blend Displacement at zero .tgd' file by 'Hetzen' and is available at the Planetside Forum. http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8638.0 Enjoy.

Beautiful image there Bob. The only thing I would say is this image is actually closer to Ajo than to Yuma. I live in Yuma and there are no Organ Pipe Cactus :( a few Saguaros and a decent abundance of Cholla!! I think the bombing range might have cleared the Organ Pipes.... But I was in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Park last week, and this is very, very close to perfection. BTW... the Colorado River goes through the western part of Yuma, and the city of Yuma is trying to close the Territorial Prison, due to the economy I believe and it is a sad thing.
