Description

That was my Sunday fun , I am not really 100% happy from what I got because I made it the simple way using terryb as a base textures , but well I guess if I started from zero it would be looking much better . temporary morph with Zbrush, test render in Poser I got major problem with the eyes this time, forgot to mask the morph area around the eyes so the ::skin:: moved and everything was done for nothing and really not functional but who knows next time would be better ... I really love the movie , so inspiring xoxo Cath

I'm a James Cameron fan too - as I said on your last post, classic movies are a great source for your style of work - keep at it! Gary

I think he looks exactly like Jake, less like his avatar self. Maybe because of the beard. Wonderful eyes :)

They did an excellent job in that movie-went to see it TWICE. Besides the eye difficulty, I think you did a great job with this. I did notice as well a bit of the base texture as you mentioned-but this is well done.

when I finish my new character I am going to make it from zero up with all the exactly details and morphs , when they created the characters for the movie they had the real actors faces scanned and then they add the features to it , that why Grace have a human nose in the movie cuz changing it to the native did not make her looks like her, so this is well not simple to do beside you can do the M4 avatar look only ... but well I will spend more time , and I saw the movie 4 times hahahah I have it on DVD , a promotion copy I got in December ..

Four times?! Lucky you!! I too fell in love with this film....(inspite of any TEENY TINY shortcomings)...and am feeling inspired by it as well. Your version is very cool too!! I am sure that if you were to do another it would be spot on. Cool work.

This is pretty impressive for a failure. I think the only movie I have ever watched more than Avatar was Monty Pythons Life of Brian. I just bought the DVD so the count is rising :)

i think the flying islands idea was back in the 70s? think either chris foss or terry gilliam featured them in their work :-) by the way love the pic
