Description

I have seen burls on the great red woods in California but this is a pine tree in south Florida. From the Wikipedia dictionary. A burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. Thanks for stopping by, taking a peak and for all your previous comments and favs. Dana

Don't we all, at some point in our lives, have a wart we wish we could remove? Interesting shot.

Terrific shot of the burl and bark, Dana! Nothing like pine bark texture in comparison to other arboreal species. And, I've always referred to burls as tumors.
