Description
I once read that more women than men are the victims of broken hearts...but that when a man's heart breaks, it breaks harder. I don't know....what do you think?
In this scene we see the moment in which a young woman has chosen to end a relationship with a man she does not love...leaving him even as he reaches out to the one his heart breaks for...
Title inspired by the soulful song from The Script: "BREAKEVEN"

He looks stunned as well as heartbroken. This seems to have come on him like a bolt out of the blue. Beautiful light and composition. Wonderful contrast of his misery and her indifference seen in poses and expressions. I like the motion as she looks and walks out of the frame, while he looks at her and seems to be sinking into the shadows. Thanks for the link. This goes well with the song. There's a long discussion on this subject in "Persuasion" by Jane Austen. At the end of it, Anne says that both sexes can love with equal fervor, but that women love longest when all hope is gone. I don't think it can be compared by gender, or even measured at all, but it's a fun thing to talk about.
