Description

About now, our Southern Hemisphere summer is waning, and the days are noticably shorter. It is time for the great migration, as the Godwits ready themselves for their annual 8 000 mile flight to Alaska where they will nest, before returning in our spring to spend summer with us. Each year many thousands of these frail seeming birds make this incredible two-way flight, across the Pacific Ocean, to pause in China before making their way up to Alaska. The Chinese Government has allowed them to have protected sanctuary on that great continent so they can rest on their long way to their nesting grounds. It is the longest migration of any known species of bird. The great Wandering Albatross, of course, spends two years at sea, but that is another story for another time. For now, I hope you will pause for a moment in wonderment, not at my fractal, but at Nature. The fractal is FE, unprocessed.
