Description

I thought I'd post something a little more optimistic this week. I live across the street from the Madrona Marsh Wildlife Preserve. It is a block square area, surrounded by condominiums and businesses, which has been preserved as a natural habitat. For the last few years it has been very dry in my part of Southern California, near drought in fact. The marsh has been brown and dry. We have had a number of heavy rains in the last two months and it has changed the preserve. I paid a visit this last Monday and wanted to show you. The ducks are back!

So glad to hear that you have a preserve so close..surrounded, like our heath. Lets hope it remains and flourishes.

This is so wonderful I can feel the mud under my feet as I edge closer to the water. I bet this is a favorite stop-over for migrating fowl and provides an amazing show in spring and fall.

Wonderful scene. It's hard to imagine this beautiful piece of nature exists amongst the condos businesses as you describe.

What a wonderful place to have close at hand! Beautiful image! I like all of reflections of the reeds, especially center left were they make pretty geometric shapes. The branch makes a great lace like effect across the picture. Lovely composition and shot!

Una bella visione naturale ! Credo che ne siano soddisfatte anche le anatre ! A beautiful natural vision! I think they are satisfied even the ducks!

It certainly looks lush and green now. A little piece of paradise right in front of your house. I love the great tree. Beautiful scene.
