Description
This photo was taken in 2008 while visit Arenal Volcano national park in Costa Rica. The Bocaraca or Eyelash Pit Vipers are quite poisonous and can vary in color from green, to yellow to brown like the one on this photo. This particular one was tiny, perhaps 6 inches, and was holding on to on side of a tree when it captured the lizard.

The pit viper is a magnificent creature. I have kept rattlesnakes before and they are amazing hunters. Outstanding shot.
