Description

Let me present my Grandmother Gertrud Andersen on my father side. She came to this area as a young bride. She raised 7 children, 4 girls and 3 boys. My father was youngst of the 3 boys and number 5 of the kids. They build a big house near the beach, where there later was build a harbour. Now the house is a Restaurant. My grandmother died in the age of 85. 5 of her children lived till over the 80´s. When you look at the frame, you can see ite had symbols of FAIT, HOPE and LOVE. She had this little frame made for my grandfather, to have with her picture, while he was on the sea. Romantic HUH? :-D Thanks for viewing and kind comments to my previous post and special warm thanks go to those, who added it to their favorites. :) Have a lovely day. Today it is abowe freezing temperature. Only a few degrees, but I am glad it is abowe :) I heard the chaffinch sing so lovely this morning and i saw a ring ouzel at our bird feeding tree. I have only seen it here once before and it was atleast 30 years ago :-)

You are so lucky. Look at how beautiful this lady is! I could pull out some of my family photos from this same era and scare the pants off everyone. The women look like horses and the men have the warmth of an ice berg with the face of a tractor wheel. :-) Love shot you did with the detail showing so well in both photo and frame.

Hi Helle:-) No, I'm not back yet but I have missed seeing your lovely works and many others, starved for art, lol! Your grandmother was very pretty and I love the frame, its gorgeous! I didn't want you to think I forgot you, I am having a really rough time right now but hopefully that will end soon. I hope this finds you and yours doing well and that things are warming up some for you!

Oh, Helle, this is amazing! First off, your close up Macro-style photography showcases this frame beautifully. It has such texture and color and life. The photo of the photo is just as perfectly done and the whole composition together evokes very strong, warm feelings. This is wonderful!

What a beautifully carved frame. A treasure in itself. And your grandmother seems like a wonderful woman. How lucky to have had someone like her in your life. My own grandmother was beautiful, but vane, selfish and cruel. I always called her "the wicked witch of the west"
