Description

In Seattle, Mt. Ranier is absolutely the reigning king of scenic views. However, it's often hidden in clouds and invisible. On this day, it came out a bit, just enough for me to get this shot. I forget where exactly I was (I know Tara or Denise will tell me!!). What I especially like about this is the repetition of the shapes, totally unintentional!!

I love this view! We were on the waterfront of downtown that day, at Pike Place Market, I think; standing on that back stairway that gives view of Puget Sound. This is looking south, and those arches are the baseball and football stadiums; yes, Mt. Ranier is quite impressive when she's out in all her glory. They keep saying there's a good chance for an eruption at any time, since it's not a dead volcano, but we've been lucky so far. I'm thinking of attempting a photo shoot from mountain itself one of these weekends; you can drive pretty far up and there are lovely views. Maybe when you come up again we can do a Mt. Ranier ninja shoot?

What a scene...unintentional? You hit the jackpot. Some years ago I was up on the mountain on one of those days when it was shrouded in clouds. We had to drive very slowly...think of the heaviest fog you've been in...that was what I recall from that daytime experience.

Nice capture! Very well done. I know it wasn't from the Space Needle, 'cause the mountain wasn't out the day we went there. I'll trust Denise to know ... Great shot!
