Description

Standing there, looking out the window, longing to go out and enjoy the day, trying to ignore all the sensible reasons for staying inside. That's what I was doing when I looked down and saw this critter doing exactly the same thing. I'm not sure I want to know how it got inside a closed house, but a few minutes later I helped it get outside to fly free. Not a bad way to start the day. edit: 12 April. It's a Peacock Butterfly. They like many garden plants, including rhododendron which is all around this house. They hibernate through the winter so it's been hidden somewhere since last fall.

Beautiful butterfly! Love the colors for it. Great shot - it does look like it wants to get outside.
