Description

An experiment in drawing a spacecraft in the blackness of space, without putting down huge amounts of black or using something like conte on black paper. I simply drew a ship with a graphite pencil with dots around it for stars, then inverted the whole thing in Photoshop. Actually drawing the ship was quite difficult because I had to consciously force myself to remember that the darkest parts I was drawing would end up being the highlights. This did nothing for spontenaeity. Still the result ended up better than I imagined - I really had little idea of how it was going to turn out. I've included the original drawing at bottom right.
