Description

Today in photos taken at around sunset Bozzano two predators hunting marsh hawks from the sky surveying the expanse of water in search of prey. Currently the area is full of delicious food for these specimens of marsh harriers. The marsh harrier is present in Europe and North America. It is found in the marshes and reeds, where he spends most of his time flying. The populations most of northern and southern ones are migratory. Migration in Western Europe begins in mid-August with the young birds born during the year, followed by adults in September-October. The males migrate later than females and young and arrive later in the wintering sites. The rate and extent of migration depends on the place of origin, because the birds originating in the northern parts Part One, moving farther and more quickly than birds from southern Europe, cha on the contrary may spend most of the period winter close to their area of coupling. Migrating south from Europe follows a precise path through Gibraltar and the Bosporus, and rarely cross large bodies of water. During migration they can fly at heights such that slipped past mountain ranges, even though they usually prefer to fly at low altitude. The northward migration begins in February and March and frequently crosses the Mediterranean. Usually migrate alone or in small groups, not in large flocks, but when you pose the hawks are more gregarious than usual, even forming groups of 300 individuals. The birds arrive in their breeding areas from late March onwards, no later than early May in areas north of the range. In Italy and migratory and wintering regular, locally sedentary. Other species of falcon are: Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus, Falco Falco of Queen Eleanor, Osprey Pandion haliaetus, Falco peregrinus Peregrine Falcon, Honey Buzzard Honey Buzzard, Red-footed Falcon Red-footed Falcon. http://www.agraria.org/faunaselvatica/falcodipalude.htm Good Sunday and good weekend Thanks for the comments and the favourites of previous image

This is a beautiful capture of their flight! It is lovely how they are seen from different angles making different silhouettes of flight. As they circle they are the epitome of freedom, not even bound to the Earth. I love the shadows on the top hawk and the way his feet are tucked close to his body. Excellent image!

Eccezionale. Sono splendidi, salendo attraverso l'aria. Colpo superbo. Great shot and you shot two of them in one picture! Outstanding. They are gorgeous, soaring through the air. Superb shot.
