Description

Bryce6.1/DazStudio/Photoshop I'm still trying to push Bryce closer to the level of Terragen and Vue as I prepare to create new images for an ongoing project that I am part of...I think I got pretty close with this one!Mech is the PPU-T2000 with a desert texture(from Daz3D and posed in DazStudio). The foreground tree is part of Daz's Trees For The Forest set, textured in preset vegetation textures. The rock and terrain textures are from the Seriously Real Materials sets, also from Daz.The low-lying vegetation are duplicated terrains rendered in a modified foliage preset. The sky, clouds, light and atmo are all custom, with a tweaking of the RGB values. The godrays were created by enlarging a cone, placing it back in the scene with the point lined up with the sun's location, and textured with a modified Lit Rays preset.Postwork involved a levels adjustment and signature. Thanks for taking the time to view, and any comments you wish to leave!

Excellent scene and render!! I sometimes use terrains too for ground-foliage and find that adding a little basic noise and spikes in the terrain editor with the terrain detail set at 1024, or even 2048 works quite well, just to give a slightly rougher look. Brian

There is something about a single item standing alone, it sets the mood. The composition and landscape are spot on, very cool image!

Excellent work! You've done a great job on the terrain and the atmosphere. The god ray os subtle, but a very nice addition.

This is outstanding work, Neil. Great atmospherics and terrain work - can I climb aboard to explore with the Mech? I've always loved the Bryce terrain generator, and in the hands of a master like yourself, it is a superb program. With ecosystems, Bryce would be every bit as good as TG and Vue.

Words really do fail me as your artwork is so, so good. I just wish I had half the tallent you do. Sadly I can only give this one a 5 but would love to be able to give it more.
