Description

This one is in the category of "beauty head" shot and not necessary "high fashion beauty". One Elinchrom Beauty dish on the model Shot at f16 Retouching done by me (5.5 hours) It is not justified to present this image in B&W due to the amount of work gone into it, 2 hours of hair and make up, 4 hours of shooting. 1 hour of selection of the image and finally 5.5 hours of retouching. But I thought of getting your opinions please on B&W beauty? Thank You for viewing Hadi

It's an awesome image. I see a few quick improvements in retouching that could make it even better. 1. eliminate the fuzzy pixels on the profile line of her dress at the breast. 2. lighten the whites of her eye just a bit. 3.there is a line of black pixels running from dress at the bress extending up to her arm. Just an observation. Wonderful job on this Hadi!

IMHO you have done a great job of this. I do agree with not having the blur on the line of her dress. It just screams 'I have bad skin so I have had to get the photographer to airbrush out all the imperfections'. I'm not saying she has of course, just that most people will immediately come to that conclusion!

It looks awesome, but 5.5 hours of retouching has me wondering if you could show us a side-by-side of before and after retouching. I think that could help me learn a lot, please.

Typical professional retouching done for images in magazines is 8 to 10 hours. There is a approximately $4000 - $5000 is spent on retouching images for high end advertising, make up, skin care products etc... I know of one image that took about 17 hours to complete.
