Description

On a lovely day in late January, Denise (MrsRatbag) and Bill (bmac62) and I went out exploring. We stopped by a lake where Denise got some great shots, and I got mostly crap! LOL! There was a notable exception ... Alongside the nearby road was a gorgeous stand of teazles. Bill and I experimented with different shots, and I was particularly happy with the ones I took with the flash. These really are as prickly as they look. When I was a teenager, we had a big pot of teazles in the entry hall at the house, and it was a good idea not to back into them. Guests would invariably touch them to see if they were soft or not. Ummm ... NOT! Ouch!

Oh, these are gorgeous! I never knew what these were called, but then we don't have as many of them in the Chicago area as I'd suspect. We do have a not as prickly variant: the stems are smoother and the prickly heads are more hooked for sticking to fur (or shoestrings...they love sticking to shoestrings.) Wonderful color and I love flash experiments. They're so much fun and the color is stunning. Beautiful. Gorgeous. I like this a lot!

A breathtaking capture. Beautiful hues and colors. Fantastic details - even the stems have tiny thorns. So well captured. Dana
