I do not think they like to be call stret cars there but that what they are. I like the ladders on the building in back too. This is on Canal Steet. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canal_Street,_New_Orleans At one time when it was builded it way the widest road in the U.S. Canal Street is often said to be the widest roadway in America to have been classified as a street, instead of the avenue or boulevard titles more typically appended to wide urban thoroughfares. thanks for looking and comments and votes. Wonderful shot! Actually I DO think they refer to them as street cars in New Orleans...but I may be wrong... and yes, the fire escapes (Ladders on the building) do make for an interesting facet to the picture. I have never been to New Orleans, but heard it is beautiful..and if it is anything like your photo, it is true!

Superlative cool capture in this one! Many decades ago, we had red street cars in Southern California -- although not as pretty as the one above -- but the autos, buses and freeways put an end to that glorious era.
