Description
Been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I'd stick up some of my recent concept work.
Commissioned by MacLife magazine, this concept is of augmented reality shades that provide in lens information about your environment, as well as being an iPod, with optional plugin ear buds - imagine walking along in the sun, browsing your music library in lens.

That is just so cool looking. Great job!

Lol. I foresee some trouble people walking into things while they are distracted from their environment. :) Good as usual!

Looks cool, and if anyone were to pull this off and do it right, Apple's probably in the best position to do so. But I imagine that there would be lots of accidents, people bumping into each other on the sidewalk or such if something like this ever becomes a reality - and works as promised.

Funnliy enough, Apple just hired an expert in 'wearable technology' according to an article on MacRumors, so this or something like it, maybe a reality before we know!
Naoo
Yeah! 1 for me please!!!

"goggles" of the kind is something that I've been predicting that will replace notebooks, mobiles and even stationary computers in the near future, and will be intermediate step towards full brain implants... Excellent design, I'd like to have a pair of these right now :) --- I'm curious, what do you mean by "in lens" i.e., how did you resolve the problem of human eye being incapable to focus on something as close as the goggle lens. Does the goggles project image directly through the eye lens on retina ? I'm sure you don't mean a complex optical system behind the lens (like night vision etc.) ? nevertheless- well done, five stars from me. If Apple bought this idea it would be their first product that they convince me to buy... I'd rather see it be Sony...

Wow! The concept is so totally cool, so sci-fi, yet I would not be surprised to see it brought into reality! :O) Your work is lovely, smooth and clean and well designed! Cheers!

They appear rather bulky and heavy creating seating issues on your nose ! if anyone had to wear glasses long term they would know this such as i do ! Still an excellent design though .

Sweet! You do the design yourself? Are you an industrial designer?

chipp - not officially - I am primarily an illustrator, and almost all these concepts have been done for magazine editorials, although I have been contacted by a few companies lately to help design their products, so watch this space. All the concepts are designed by me, some have input from the editorial team, others from other experts (this was proposed by T3's editor), but essentially, after the initial brief, I come up with the look and design based on whatever is needed - in this case, Oakley styling mixed with Apple. Speech - technically, this was done in 2009, so is still correct, but thanks for the heads up! ;)

Have a look at the "Sixth Sense" technology at the TED site and see if there's something you can do with that. Brilliant visualization as always.
