Description
I love long and wide shadows.
Captured 3/15/10, early in the morning, within walking distance of my amicable abode.
There were tons of these lying around on the sidewalk, but this one seemed a bit more unique, shadow-wise.
If you're interested, similar shots of these seedpods were posted on my gallery back on 3/6/09.
Ciao, thankx for popping in, and for any and all comments and faves.

The shadows are wonderful; having stepped on enough of these with my bare feet, however, I'm not so enamoured of the seed pods themselves. They LOOK great, but hurt like the very devil when you're not expecting them! Great capture!

There were Sweet Gum trees at my Grandmother's house in Pineville, Louisiana. We walked around her yard very carefully as we were always barefoot. I love shadows too and this is a beaut! Excellent detail of the Sweet Gum ball too! In answer to your comment on my last image, the picture that I used liquify on is coming up next. It is of a lady with white hair. You won't see Cleo at all, even though her nose is very much there. :)

I don’t know but it looks like a tiny alien space vehicle. I hope you didn’t step on any tiny green men. Dana

I simply had to comment on this Harry! Its a fabulous image and it brings to mind 'doppelganger',the good one and the bad/dark one. Very well seen and captured, I don't think as bad as my eyes are that I could have seen that shadow! I loved your alien icon, funny, as is this one too:-)

Thankyou, Harry, you have identified a tree for me! I have photos of these from the next avenue to where I live, and I wasn't sure what they were. A beautiful photo!

beautiful the seed with the long shadow, Harry. What a spiky form it has as seed of a sweet (!) gum tree...smile... First song which came to my mind was the lemontree, very pretty, and the lemonflower is sweet, but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat...
