A few hours later... these acrobats have spent a few hours in this apparently corrosive atmosphere, and they're looking pretty raggedy.

First thought: honey ants, with those sucked dry in the foreground. Poor fellas. How's that for an existence? Bred to be a living larder! Yecch!! However, on a less entomological note -- a truly fascinating image Danise; the colouring adds real drama to those weird shapes. Fave!

How very cool, what'd you do, set some termites loose in Bryce? The poor Dentrites are being slowly wiped out by this plague .. whatever it is. But there is a real beauty about it all, the way there is a beauty often about things that are corroding, dissipating.
