Description

The Imperial Consortium Strike Cruiser has turned out to be a nasty, and sometimes morale bruising, surprise for the Terran Protectorate. These large command ships are leading the charge of the new I.C. offensive into human space, and appear to be the first ship specifically designed to combat human technology and tactics. The angled honeycomb hull structures are designed to reduce the armor-piercing characteristics of human ballistic weaponry, deflecting and distributing kinetic energy instead of allowing it to transfer into the superstructure. The ship has a pair of massive hangar bays allowing it to deploy two wings of fighters and troop transports for ground assaults. The ship employs a combination of plasma, antimatter and particle beam weaponry, and the main cannon is capable of sustained partlcle beam blasts. Survivors of the first assault on the Fort Halsey claim the main guns of these vessels were able to fire sustained beams lasting at least three seconds when destroying the planet's orbital facilities. To date, no lone Terran Protectorate ship has been able to successfully engage one of these deadly vessels, and none have been destroyed in combat. Fortunately, they appear to be rare. The Terran Protectorate's new Hastings-Class battlecarrier, was designed to counter these ships, however they are more powerful than initial prewar intelligence lead the military to believe, and the second Hastings-Class vessel, the T.S.S. Midway, was refit before launch to upgrade its capabilities. Unfortunately, the upgrades will not have the chance to undergo full testing.

A really great ship ! I like the shark-like design, howeever there are some weird angles that I don't understand, be it perspective, texture or rendering.

What type of weaponry are the humans using? Normal Heap rounds, large to heavy cannons? I bet if they outfitted the Hastings 3 with a ships length partiacle accelorator cannon that shot depleted uranium shells at point o five light, that would put a dent in that s.o.b. The rate of fire would be low, but that honeycomb structure would fall apart like leggo pieces on impact. HAHAHA! Ahh great image and story
