Description

It is funny what CG software is able to. I recently downloaded the alpha of Sculptris following the information kindly provided by Gwynhale. The primary version of this portrait was conceived in Sculptris which, at this stage, is quite user friendly and easy to manipulate with. The final version of Satyr has been done with the CG software of endless possibilities - PostworkShop by Xycod. Thank you for visit the Satyr page. This, anyway, is the week of Xycod Portrait Contest at Renderosity - follow the link: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/contest/index.php?contest_id=1069

This is very cool. Has a very primative art feel.. which gives it so much character. Love it.

Boris, this is amazing! Very cool experiment with Sculptris. I think that you somehow avoided the l'art pour l'art torture of the 3D model that one can frequently see on the ZBrush experiments. It is of course not software dependent :) And also maybe the PWS treatment has soemething to do with the great result, it would be less interesting with a simple clay render.

Agreed completely! PWS can give an excellent final result at the end of the raw material post-processing path. I found mixed medium interaction as a great possibility for digital visual expressiveness and PWS fit my needs perfectly well.

I agree with M2A it looks like a tribal mask wonderfully sculpted. The lighting adds to the mystical mood. Excellent work.
