Description

PLEASE ENLARGE - I MADE IT WIDE SCREEN WALLPAPER SIZED Well, I was going to dedicate this to ALL G4 fans out there but it just wouldn't be right after all the help Rod gave me on this. I bugged the poor guy ALL weekend while I struggled my way through creating this dress, and he put up with me like a true friend. It didn't come out as good as I'd hoped it would and certainly not nearly as good as if Rod had done it himself but, I am not totally displeased with it - for being my first attempt anyway. I morphed and rendered my G4 character in Poser 8 wearing only her gloves, shoes and hair (poor girl was nikked other than that), then I put her into Abobe Photoshop and tried my hand at creating a dress for her as per RodS's free tutorial. I must say the poor girl was far more patient with me than I was. So was Rod. LOL. But here it is for better or for worse. I made an attempt to put sequins on her dress if you're wondering what all the sparkly looking things are supposed to be. Please leave a comment. Perhaps you have some suggestions for improvement.

Well, Hon...I know how hard you worked on this...in the large view you can tell how sparkly the sequins are... Yes, she's not bad, LOL...

I think you did an amazing job on this hand painted dress. If this is only a first go you are well on your way to having the freedome to create whatever wardrobe you desire.

OOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike, this is totally AWESOME!!!!! G4 as Jessica R, I LOVE it! Jessica never looked HOTTER! My friend, really - for your first attempt at Photoshopping clothing, you did a great job! Another couple like this, and you're there! Learned well, you have, my Padawan... Suggestion - try doing a few simple Photoshop pieces of just cloth - say curtains hanging from a wall. Doing the pleats in pretty easy; just vertical bands of light and dark. Follow my tut, practice a couple times, and I think you'll get the hang of the shading and displacement maps pretty quickly. You are well on the way, buddy! Keep plugging away at it, and you'll be teaching me :-D Sequins are a little hard to get the hang of. Generally the sparkles should follow the highlight (specular) areas; concentrate them there, and just have a few random sparkles in the other areas. Hehe - another tut ;-D In the meantime, I'm going to be doing a second tutorial on this technique, so stay tuned.. I'm going for a COLD shower, now. WHEW is she HOT!! Man, I LOVE her skin! NIIICE tan! I'm gonna have to check out those textures. I love the caption, too - that's just tooooo cool! Awesome work, Mike! Seriously!

Cool take on Jessica Rabbit. I hadn't noticed the dress was painted on 'till you told us. Great work painting that, hard to believe it's an early attempt.
