UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wow, Bill, this is too cool! I love the filter effect - adds a little impressionistic spin, but not so much that you lose the image. The rainbow just kicks it up to top drawer status. Niiice one!

I like that filter on this image. The mist and the churning water look really cool, and the rainbow really pops. Great work! Happy Birthday, Mark!

The postwork is quit strong - I like the image it is well done - but it has for me taken on a feel of a painting more than a photo ! - Great BD wish :)

first Bill, thank you so much for remembering my birthday, I'm very touched. Secondly, thanks for using the Caravaggio filter! (If you knew what kind of a guy he was---this great Renaissance painter was just about the meanest you-know-what you could imagine!) And third & most important, it's always great to see you transform photography into photographic painting. You sure have that inside you. As Greg/SoulEater says, it feels more like a painting than a photo---though it's unmistakably a photo. I've been trying to figure out what's in it, and I think I see a plane (well it looks like a cockpit or the frame of an old plane). And some highly textured background, maybe a wall, maybe a dam. And bits of the rainbow...and a big waterfall. But see, in pieces like this, it's the final blend that matters: This is like a waterfall out of some deep cavern, and your filtering & how you've divided the light into concrete layers, the watercolor or oil-like effect, and the play of light & dark (Caravaggio) is wonderfully inventive and even introspective. It's so nice you did something like this for my birthday, and I hope you keep doing these types of pieces. You've shown many times now your predilection for photographic painting. And for your friendship & support & wonderful & always helpful comments, a great thank you. A wonderful gift, thank you for remembering & for making a creative image like this for my birthday. Many thanks, Bill!

very beautiful dedication for Mark!

Oh my, along with the crashing and mist-covered waterfall, I also detect the prismatic head of a bird in this very unique and excellent offering and dedication to our mutual friend, Mark, on his birthday commemoration. The Caravaggio filter is a fantastic tool, and I suspect another one of those filters that is incompatible with Macintosh. I remember the artist did terrific work in the light and shadow genre.

magnificent picture!! great dedication!
