Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

(Sorry for the 3 ebots! I keep making mistakes---nothing to do with you, I'm just sloppy right now!) Thank you so much, Marilyn. Thank you for the big wave, another of your ocean series that you know I love so much. I love 'my lake', but the only time we get waves like this is when a major storm rolls in---whereas you get them all the time. And from what you show us here, this wave is nothing compared to the waves the ocean gets many days. You got a "fleece" effect here, like the wave is a big shag fabric, or it's made of fleece strands: It's so soft, you almost want to rest your head on it. (Nice image for this birthday: It's been so noisy here, I'd love to rest my head on a big fleecy wave for 9 or 10 months!) And you have a violet sepia, a soft introspective tone that you've gotten on a few of your recent shots. But most important, it's your ocean, a part of your life I know you adore; and I so appreciate your giving a piece of it to me. As for my birthday, apart from a rare hangover, my birthday was fine. Thank you so much Marilyn; this piece of your beloved ocean, along with your wonderful & dear friendship, make this a wonderful birthday gift. Thank you! (I can now say I got a piece of the Pacific ocean for my birthday!) It's a beautiful shot & gift. Thanks so much for thinking of me last night!

Way to go Marilyn...or should I say, "Wave to go?" You can shoot the ocean all day long and I'll give you high marks on them all:) This obviously went over very big with the birthday boy. Excellent!
